Gift ideas for active dogs

Gift ideas for active dogs

With Christmas just a week ago, we’re in crunch time for shopping. Of course, your gift list isn’t complete without something special for your beloved pooch. We recently visited Uncle Omar at Animal Outfitters to find the best gift ideas for dogs and owners who love to get out and exercise. You can find all of the following products at Animal Outfitter at 986 Elmwood Ave, Buffalo, NY. Happy shopping!

Sports harness

Dog Sports Harnesses

A comfortable, durable sports harness is ideal for all types of activities – walks, runs, hikes, trips to the dog park, etc. We recently reviewed the Pet PDC Comfortflex and Ruffwear Front Range Harness, which we highly recommend. Each harness has a unique fit, so it’s best to have your dog try both on in the store.

Earth Rated poop bags

Ok, this one is more for you and the environment. We love Earth Rated poop bags because not only are they biodegradable, but they’re also very easy to use and strong (the last thing you want on a run is for a full poop bag to rip). Pro tip: in the winter, open the top of your bag before going outside so you don’t have to take your gloves off in the cold.

Water Rover

In the summer, it’s important to keep your dog hydrated to prevent over exhaustion and heat stroke. The Water Rover is a great solution because you can pour the water directly into the cup, then back into the bottle once your dog is done drinking. The bottle also comes in a few different sizes – we use the medium since it’s easy to carry during a run.

Joint Rescue treats

Joint Rescue Treats

Think of these as recovery treats for your pup. High in protein from USA meat, Joint Rescue also includes glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate, which help repair and lubricate your dog’s joints.

Stella & Chewy’s freeze-dried food

Stella and Chew's food

Not only will your dog go nuts for Stella & Chewy’s, but since it’s freeze-dried you can use it in a number of ways. You can break off small pieces for treats, or rehydrate a patty for a full meal. This makes S&C convenient for long hikes or traveling with your dog.
