We require that dogs be licensed and up to date on vaccinations. In addition, we will not run a dog with a history of aggression.

You should always consult with your veterinarian before starting a running program. Puppies under one year old, elderly dogs, or those with chronic health issues may not be ready to start a running program.

High-energy and working breeds are more likely to be good runners, while extra large breeds and dogs with short, flat snouts are not.

But our experience is that every dog is different. We’ve had working dogs that didn’t like to run, and we’ve jogged breeds from an Italian Mastiff to a Pomeranian. So the only way you’ll know if your dog is a runner is if you try it out.

During a 20-minute run, we’ll cover anywhere from 1.5-3 miles, depending on the weather and fitness level of your dog.

We offer a $5 trial run, so you can test out the service to make sure it’s right for you and your pup. After that, runs start at $20 for 20 minutes, with discounts available for multiple runs per week. Check our Rates section for a full listing of prices.

Always. You can either provide a leash (the longer, the better), or we can bring one with us.

We offer a $5 trial run so you can test out of the service. It’s normal for a dog to be hesitant the first few runs. We will positively encourage our canine running partners. But we certainly don’t want to force anything, so if your pup gets overly anxious or stubborn, we’ll turn back. It may take a few runs to gain your dog’s trust and confidence.

We find that dogs actually pull less and seem more focused while running than they are while walking.

We typically run rain or shine, but there a few weather conditions that we may cancel a run for.

In the summer, we keep an eye out on the temperature. Dogs do not tolerate heat as well as humans, so running when it’s extra hot out puts dogs at risk for heat exhaustion and dehydration. Every dog is different, but in general, we will cancel a run if the temperature is above 80°.

In the winter, we will postpone a run if the temperature or wind chill gets dangerously low, or if the roads are extremely snowy or icy.

In a word, no. Leash training is nice, but not required.

Just because your dog has a lot of room to run around doesn’t mean he or she is actually doing so. Most dogs in yards sit and wait for someone to play/chase/throw a ball, and don’t get much exercise on their own.

Any way your dog can get exercise is great. Running is different because it is an aerobic exercise, which offers many different health benefits compared to anaerobic workout. So running is a great complement, not replacement for other forms of exercise.
